It's the 2009 Game Schedule, T It's the 2009 Game Schedule, Tomahawker
- Adapted from "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" -
[Scene: Tomahawker sitting in a schedule patch, eagerly awaiting the Great Commissioner, after having dragged Mamahawker away from the Nora Roberts series on The Lifetime Channel, to wait with him.]
Tomahawker: Today the Great Commissioner will rise out of an NFL Schedule Patch. He flies through the air and brings game schedules to all the football fans of the world.
Mamahawker: [sarcastic] That's a good story.
Tomahawker: You don't believe the story of the Great Commissioner? I thought little girls always believed everything that was told to them. I thought little girls were innocent and trusting.
Mamahawker: Welcome to the 20th century!
Tomahawker: On NFL Schedule Release Day, the Great Commissioner rises from his Schedule Patch and flies through the air with his bag of team schedules to give to all the eager football fans of the world.
Tomahawker: Each year, the Great Commission rises out of the schedule patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how any schedule patch can be more sincere than a Seahawk one. You can look around and there's not a sign of fan hypocrisy. Nothing but fan sincerity as far as the eye can see.
Tomahawker: [hears rustling] What's that?
Tomahawker: There he is! There he is! It's the Great Commissioner! He's rising out of our Schedule Patch! [Tomahawker faints and the "Commissioner" is really D-Hawker; meanwhile Mamahawker is seething.]
Tomahawker: What happened? Did I faint? What did he leave us? Did he leave us any Seahawks game schedules?
Mamahawker: I was robbed! I spent the whole day waiting for the Great Commissioner, when I could have been watching Nora Roberts on The Lifetime Channel. My show is over, and I missed it! You blockhead! You kept me away from The Lifetime Channel for the Great Commissioner, and all that came was D-Hawker. I didn't get a chance to see how my show ended. And it was all your fault. I'll sue! What a fool I was! I could have watched all sorts of chick-flicks, but no, I had to listen to you. You blockhead! What a fool I was. The Nora Roberts series comes only once a year and I missed it by sitting in a schedule patch with a blockhead. YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!
Tomahawker: Good Grief – HAPPY NFL GAME SCHEDULE RELEASE DAY!
A BATTLE ROYAL? BATTLE of the A BATTLE ROYAL? BATTLE of the BULGE
Greetings Hawkers - I hope your summer is progressing well and you are all chomping at the bit for the season to begin, August 8. In the meantime, here are a few local current events:
A BATTLE ROYAL - BATTLE of the BULGE: Currently underway is a SEA HAWKER v. NINER bet. The things I do to assure the integrity of our organization. ^_^
I have been challenged to a weight loss competition. The goal is 40 pounds. The bet - the loser must wear opposing fan's team logo items for one week, throughout the work area. Rest assured, I never have, nor will I EVER be placed in a position to champion the cause of the 40-whiners. That poor person is GOING DOWN!! The competition started with a weigh-in, last Tuesday.
Suffice it to say, I am slightly over my ideal drinking weight. I guess a better way to say it is that I am a little beyond svelte and can afford to lose a couple tons. So, in the infamous words of Judge Mills Lane, "Let's get it on."
Each week we will weigh in and record the progress. Today's weigh-in went pretty much like any typical Seahawk versus 49er match - the Niner's and left-coast media talk smack all week about how the Hawks will fail, and then… the Seahawks walk in and lay a beating on them. Why is this such a surprise? It happens every time. Won't those Niners ever learn?
Today's weigh-in results:
Tomahawker: Loss of 8 pounds - 32 pounds to go
40-Whiner: Loss of 6 pounds – 34 pounds to go
OH YEAH!!... I can see that Seahawk cheering skirt and foam Hawk Head looking very good on that 40-Whiner.
Weekly update to follow – GO SEA HAWKERS!!!
Regards,
Tom Spindler

Sounders Love-Fest Sounders Love-Fest
I played soccer as a youth, with no real idea of what the Sounders FC experience would be like at Quest Field, home of the 12th Man. I went with my eyes wide open.
As I approached the stadium I sensed a difference from a Seahawks game crowd: heads were held high with eye contact, smiles were everywhere. I arrived in time to witness the march of FC fans singing out in unison, marching band in tow from downtown to the front steps of the stadium, thousands of fully decked out FC fans in scarves and a sea of green and blue. Impressive, I was in awe - this crowd was different, it was infectious, you wanted to join in as thousands did just that.
As they arrived at the foot of Quest, the band performed, much like a jam session with individual solos and encouragement from the band leader. The band mates would break out in song and many joined in from the crowd; so many knew all the words and there was real rhythm in the air. It was joyous. I kept thinking something wonderful is happening in this city; was it the Obama economics in play, was it the fact the stock market has been on the rise five days in a row? Folks were out spending money and having fun, times were better, we were getting better, it was a new era, a new beginning. Tears of joy overwhelmed me, I believed and I wanted to shout it along with rest.
As I arrived inside, "Wow!" would become my new word. This event, simply put, was a lovefest. What I saw was mostly a Europe crowd, this was not about the NBA or lack of NBA in Seattle, this was not the storyline of this day. These were real soccer fans in the house and it was a brotherhood and sisterhood of the sport. It was a happening that altered my state of mind. I left that day full of love and hope. The Sounders fans were friendly, inviting, embracing, courteous and wild. The Seattle fan base, whether it is the failed Sonics, the Seahawks, Mariners, or any of our local teams, the Seattle fans will be forever changed from this day forward, and for the better.
I knew nothing of the game before I arrived - don’t blink, there are no replays. The game was fast, real fast, and the players and fans alike attacked for the full 90. It was clear there is a vision, and we are a large part of what is brewing. Other then saying "WOW!" all day long and saying to myself, “my eyes are wide open," there were ohhhs and ahhhs all game long. I became a Sounders Gamer, as the first fan greeted me at my seat, “Welcome, fellow gamer”.
The story of the day, this was a Love-fest. Get on board if you can and alter your life in a dramatic way, and come feel the love for yourself.

Sunday Night Football Sunday Night Football
Just imagine........ I'm in Iraq with a few US Military Sea Hawkers (and one actually is the station manager for our TV station here.) We get Sunday Night Football at 3 a.m. (Monday morning) so I stay up to watch it. What do I hear on TV??? NOT John Madden!! He has decided NOT to go to this game!!!!! What's with that?? He's decided to break his record of games because he feels we aren't worthy of even broadcasting? What kind of crap is that??? We're here, in Iraq, doing OUR job and he just gets to decide we aren't "worthy?" Wow Mr. Madden, I sure wish I could decide you're not worthy of defending, but I would never do that!!!! I continue MY job!!!
Our Hawks may be down, but like our oath says, "We will not leave a fallen Comrade!" We don't kick our team while they're down, we rally them up to fight another day!! Come on Hawk Fans!!! The 12th Man is needed more than ever now!! Please be our voice because we can't be there!
T-Hawk (Master Sergeant Traci)
Congrats to The 12's own Bryan Congrats to The 12's own Bryan Murphy!
A BIG congrats goes out to the 12's own Bryan "HawkFiend" Murphy for being inducted into the Pro Football Ultimate Fan Assoc. (Hall of Fans) in Canton, OH this past Sunday!!! As we all know, HawkFiend is well deserving of this honor as he proudly repped the 12's of the Seahawk Nation today in Canton!
Day 2 in Canton Day 2 in Canton
Today started nice and dark in full costume at 5:30 EASTERN TIME.. that's like, 2:30 to me.
We all gathered and went down to Canton for the HOF Parade.. I think we were on like float 36 or something, I dont know.. but we followed the family of Bob Hayes.
The parade was about a 3 mile walk, but it seemed a lot longer. Unfortunately I only found about 3 other Hawks Fans. (BernieHawk did show up this morning by the way) in the crowd and I ended up scaring a bunch of little kids who wanted nothing to do with High 5 from the HawkFiend. Plenty more did though, and I don't think I have posed for pictures that often in a while.
We also ran into the group of referees... let's just say they were not the most popular group among the fans. I tried to find Bill Leavy (Super Bowl XL Infamy) to kick him in the shins just to see if he would call me for an illegal block, but I could not find him.
After the parade, the Ultimate Fans were carted off to a special tent which had the kids from those attending the HOF Festivities, as well as a fund raiser for a Youth Program too. Thanks to the generosity of the Hawks, I had plenty of Seahawk pencils, micro mini helmets, stickers, and green wrist bands to give away. The wrist bands were a big hit, including with many of the other Ult Fans. I must have heard 10 times today, from the other team's fans, how cool the lime green is... and also that, "If I weren't a "blank" Fan, I would be a Seahawks Fan..."
Other discussions I had proved to me that we are known as the loudest group out there in NFL land. There is much respect from the fans, just not so much from the media for the West Coast and the PNW specifically.
The NFC and the NFL is concerned about coming to Qwest folks, they don't want to have to do that... and you fellow 12's are a big part of the reason why..
OK, off to another Tailgate Party. I am skipping the Player inductions today, just too crazy down there after only a few hours sleep... besides, more Raider Chicken, Saints Jumbalaya and Bengal Bombs..
BLOG MORE SOON...
WeeHawk meets WWE! WeeHawk meets WWE!
WeeHawk is now a known Soldier around camp. He sports his camo headband (looking for his sized uniform) and smiles at everyone! I get harassed by all other sport team fans, just to have them admit how 'cute' WeeHawk is after they answer "no" to the question of, "Do you have something from your team to travel with and share?"
There is a Lieutenant Colonel that stopped me and asked if he could have his picture taken with "us"! WeeHawk is doing a great job of boosting the morale of the military and civilians alike here in Baghdad. He will travel to FOB Justice next week......his first helicopter ride!
WeeHawk met a few WWE stars who, of course, wanted their picture with Wee. Their professional photographer even snapped a few pictures of me, Wee and John Sierna! I'll post some pictures as soon as I can so you all can see how much Wee has been doing!
We won't be able to watch the Hawks this weekend, but maybe that's not all bad. I now know that the Seahawks are indeed waiting for me to get back into the states before they have a winning season, so watch out! Next year is going to be good!!!!
WeeHawk in Iraq! WeeHawk in Iraq!
WeeHawk has decided to go on a deployment of his own and visit me in Iraq!! Imagine my surprise as I received him from the USPS in great shape! Although he was tired; he met and danced for the whole office here at the Al Faw Palace in Baghdad, Iraq!
His first stop after leaving the office was the first stop for all new soldiers: getting his picture taken in the chair Yasser Arafat gave to Sadam Hussein! Next was meeting the Tongan Marine guards that let no one not authorized inside the Palace. Of course, WeeHawk was given his security clearance and allowed in!
He's very tired so asleep now. When I got here it took me two weeks to recover, however I don't think it will take him that long! He's going to meet my Colonel tomorrow!
Stay tuned for pictures and continuous travel blogs from WeeHawk! He'll be home after he tours the world!

We have put together a map and directions to the Stadium and the area where we will be parking and hanging out. Please email me at celestialcreations@sbcglobal.net for a copy.
Basically we will be in Section U - right in front of the RV parking section.
We will have the official NorCal Sea Hawkers raising of the 12th Man flag shortly after our arrival at the Stadium.
Hope to see you there!

Silliness Silliness
At the suggestion of a very good friend I'm posting this (originally a message board post) as a blog entry:
Silliness
There is a lot of silliness on this board during times like these, it's only natural after a loss (or in this case a series of losses) for the part time fans and wallflowers that may be as diehard as the most active of us but that rarely post to come out of hiding and post reactionary, hurt, or flippant posts; "I'm done with this team!" or "Fire everybody!" or "We have no heart!" . . . but any of us that have been here through the Reign of The Evil Ken Behring know it could be worse and that it will get better.
We're not suddenly a terrible team, we're a severely wounded team struggling to keep our heads above water. I don't care how good any team was the year before, take away their top 6 receivers and their QB and their offense will suddenly look terrible. Put casts on their best three defenders (or at least three of their best) and their defense will suddenly have problems wrapping up tackles and getting off the field on third down. Combine those issues on both offense and defense at the same time, and throw in some good talking head fodder like a Hall of Fame Coach in a lame duck season and 'voila!' you have the 2008 Seahawks.
Those of us seasoned enough, or capable of taking a deep breath and putting things in perspective will get through these times just fine . . . a bit less happy of course than if we were in our usual position atop the NFC West and serious post season contenders as usual . . . but it doesn't take much solid reasoning to recognize that this sort of season just happens, and it can and does happen to every team sooner or later.
Anyone checking out now is not a Seahawks fan but a Whoeveriswinningnow fan.
SeaHawkSoldier In Iraq SeaHawkSoldier In Iraq
Well, I expected to write a LONG time ago, but alas, as I sit here now, 67 days have already passed. I've been in Iraq for the whole football season and the Hawks have been playing like they miss me! I'm in Baghdad, so football choices are whatever American Forces Network (AFN) decides we would like. Needless to say, Seahawk football is not one of the choices they let us watch. Now, I'm pretty excited about the Thanksgiving Day game against the Cowgirls! AFN HAS to play that game!!!
Anyway, for those of you who know me, I'm staying safe and it's not too hot anymore. Those days of 135 are GONE!!!!! Bring on the winter!!! I carry my US Military Sea Hawker coin in my ACU front pocket ALWAYS!!!...... thanks to being "coined" by one of our members in the IZ (formerly known as the "Green Zone").........thanks Mark!
Thanks for all of your prayers! Keep 'em up! Hope to see you all next season!!! I think I'll plan my midtour break, now that I sort of know the Super Bowl is out......hey, but who knows!!!
GO HAWKS!!

First Preseason Game thoughts First Preseason Game thoughts
It's the time of year again that Seahawks fans have been anticipating. No more watching baseball, catching up on the latest Brett Favre news or replays of old NFL games. Adrenaline is rushing, Seahawks fans are getting their gear out, and everyone is ready for football.
This year it's been a little different. There has been a lot of concern on the offensive side of the ball. The defense has 11 starters returning so the chemistry should be stronger than ever.
It's been three days since the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings and there have been a lot of questions answered:
- Could the young wide receivers step up and be a target Matt could feel comfortable to throw to?
- Could Steve Vallos, under a lot of pressure, make no mistakes at center?
- Would the O-line do an excellent job at blocking so the running backs could have the holes to run though?
- Who would be the starting kicker?
I, for one, can say I was NOT very optimistic about our offense as awhole. The only two guys on offense I felt confident about were our
pro-bowl quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck, and our veteran wide receiver, Bobby Engram. But I will be the first to admit the offense proved me wrong; they exceeded beyond my expectations.
For it being Steve Vallos' first NFL game (even if it was only the preseason) he was on point. Not one botched snap from center to quarterback, which is something I was worried about. The offensive line opened holes, blocked very well and made sure Matt had the protection he needed. The young wide receivers did step up their game, and they started off the game with a beautiful 18-yard touchdown pass from Hasselbeck to Kent. There were other young guys who caught passes left and right: Gilmore, Bumpus, Taylor and Obomanu.
John Carlson, our rookie tight end, also shined. He blocked as well as caught passes thrown to him. I think the most exciting thing about the offense was seeing the running game. After the past two years of a horrible running game, questions lingered in the minds of Seahawks fans: with the release of Shaun Alexander and additions of Julius Jones, TJ Duckett, and Mike Wahle, would our running game be improved? There are a lot of new faces and it was refreshing to see MoMo bust through the Vikings defense to gain yards. There was a little disappointment in both Julius Jones and TJ Duckett. Duckett fumbled twice, but both fumbles were overturned. Julius Jones couldn't convert on 3rd and 1, and you could see the frustration he had with himself when the Vikings defense piled up and didn't let him go anywhere.
The real surprise was Justin Forsett, the Seahawks 7th-round pick in the draft. When you look at him the first thing you think is, 'Wow, he's small, and he doesn't look too strong.' But boy does the guy prove you wrong. The advantage with being small is he's fast and quick. He doesn't go down without a fight, showing his toughness. You think he's down but really he's pushing his way through defenders. Only time will tell what this special player can do. The running backs also did something we weren't really used to...
They could catch the ball.
When Shaun was in the backfield, if Hasselback (which was very rare) threw a screen pass to him, you'd hold your breath and close your eyes. Usually it would be a dropped pass. But with this group of guys they can catch. Owen Schmitt proved he could not only run the ball, but he could also catch and block - not to mention block very well. When Justin Forsett was handed the ball, here came big Owen Schmitt blocking defenders and opening holes for Forsett to run through. The offense gave Seahawks fans a sigh of relief, for now.
Another concern was who would replace Josh Brown? The Seahawks signed free agent kicker Olindo Mare in the offseason and drafted Brandon Coutu in April. Both looked good during the game with neither missing. I've said it once, I've said it twice, and I'll say it again: the one thing I liked about Coutu was when he tackled the return man after our special teams failed to do so. The next few games will determine who will be our starting kicker, and in my opinion neither have the edge just yet.
I would say a concern would have to be special teams. Letting guys get 54 yards down the field for great field position makes a fan kind of sick to their stomach. I would hate to see more missed tackles and opposing teams taking it all the way to the endzone for a touchdown.
As for the defense, the first-string guys looked a bit off. The Vikings are known as a running team, and with Rookie of the Year Adrian Peterson in the backfield you would've thought he would get the ball a couple times. That was not the case. The Vikings offense caught the defense off guard and threw the ball several times. What was once the Seahawks defensive strength against the pass looked like their weakness. The Vikings took the ball down the field with ease. The defense looked a little rusty but things will be fixed.
The 2nd and 3rd-string defense looked great! I'd say five forced fumbles, recovering four and a couple of sacks was pretty impressive. There are a couple guys making a name for themselves: David 'The Heater' Hawthorne was incredible, not afraid to make big hits which were crucial. And first-round pick Lawerence Jackson excelled, getting to his former teammate John David Booty for a sack. Look out Darryl Tapp!
All in all, the first preseason game went beyond what some people expected, including myself. If the offense continues to play the way they did in the first quarter, big things can happen. Yes, there were mistakes, but those are mistakes that can be fixed. I'm just as excited for this next preseason game as I was for this one.
The first preseason game at Qwest will be exciting. The Bears are coming to town, and although it's only a meaningless preseason game, the Hawks are here to win!
Finish Strong Finish Strong
Although the top two NFC berths seem destined for Dallas & Green Bay, the Hawks would love to wrap up the NFC West early enoughto rest injured players. A win at Philadelphia would put give Seattle the opportunity to seal the deal with a win the following week against Arizona. The Arizona game will be critical in any event. But if my evaluation of the Hawks is correct, they will wrap up the Division with 2 games remaining, giving them the opportunity to rest injured players. Then it's on the playoffs with at least one home game in the home of the loudest 12th Man in sports....Qwest Field.
Play the Blame Game? Play the Blame Game?
Since many of the Seahawk games did not materialize and become as entertaining as we have been accustomed to in recent years, it seems the game of choice for many is now... The Blame Game. Let's Play the Blame Game.... I say, let's NOT.
What good does it do? For those who have to play the blame game, go ahead, get it out of your system. You and I know all you will really get out of it is that you get the satisfaction of saying - AHHHHHH..HAAAAAA....... It's YOUR fault!! Ok, go ahead if you must - (I'll wait while you do it.. ^_^)
OK - got that out of your system? Did it make you feel better? NOW WHAT?? Did it fix the team issues? Did it heal the injured players? Did it fix the issues with management? NOPE... But by golly, you got the satisfaction of say AHHHH..HAAA!!
Yeah, I am frustrated, as are many fans and booster club members. Rather than play the meaningless blame game, l say let's put our energy into supporting the rebuilding process and the changes that are about to happen.
Let's all get on the same page - and let's all say, "Ahhhh.. HAAAAAAA.... so YOU'RE the ones rebuilding our team."
GO HAWKS!!
Alaska Seahawks? - We'll Take Alaska Seahawks? - We'll Take 'Em..
I have to laugh at some people's frustrations - but then, I too have frustrations from time to time, so try to forgive when people talk crap. One of my favorite moments (?) is when certain fans get discouraged or frustrated with the Hawks performance and they don't know how to let it out. They try to vent their frustration by noting how the team does not play like a Seattle team should. They (here it comes) note how THEY PLAY MORE LIKE THE SOUTH ALASKA SEAHAWKS than the Seattle Seahawks.
HUH????.. what kind of crap is that? - Well, it is the same crap spewed by the east-coast media, of course. They seemingly use the term as though it is supposed to be a put down for the Hawks. Alaska is not a bad place to be... we are not DETROIT for gosh sakes. In fact, if you watch polls, many times the Seahawks are noted as Alaska's favorite NFL team. Many Seahawk fans live and come from all over the world. We would love to have the Seahawks be our home team. It would certainly save on the airfare, hotels, meals, car rentals, ... you know.. the little things that help stimulate an economy. ^_^
So, I say to you folks who want the Seahawks to be from Alaska, so you do not have to bare the shame, - send them up. We would love to have our own team. But since that is not going to happen, I will be happy to continue in sharing the team with you. Just, give your neighbor to the north a little love.
Go Hawks! - Tomahawker
Josh Wilson visits Iraq! Josh Wilson visits Iraq!
Well, it is a few weeks late for me posting this blog, but I've logged more helicopter miles here in Iraq than frequent flyer miles in the states and haven't had time to get onto Spirit of 12....sorry. Anyway, now that I have, I'll tell you the story of meeting Josh Wilson here in Iraq:
Once upon a time, there was a Master Sergeant that was a HUGE Seahawks fan and missed the ENTIRE season of football due to a deployment in Iraq....... ok, I'll stop with the fairy tail, but really this was a dream that this happened. I get told that Josh is coming to Iraq for the Super Bowl. Well, it's my birthday the end of January so I had already scheduled my 4-day pass in Qatar for that time, so alas, I won't be seeing Josh.
Well, in Qatar, the three players that were to be going to Afghanistan get stuck in Qatar due to a C17 landing on the airstrip in Bagram without landing gear. Just to let you know, landing without gear usually tears up a landing strip.....and it did. It was great fun meeting Brad Butler from the Bills, and Will Svitek from the Falcons. They were fantastic to everyone and we had a great time watching the SB together. I've made great allies now with other teams..... anyway, back to the story.
I flew back to Camp Victory (Baghdad Iraq) from my 4-day (that turned into an 8-day) pass on Wednesday night after the Super Bowl. I went straight to class (I'm taking a psych class) on another base and stayed there until 2200hrs (10 p.m.) and when I went into the Mayor's Cell I saw some Seahawk stickers and an autographed photo. I said, "So, who's the Seahawk fan?" "No one here" was the reply. "What? No one? Then why in the world do you all have Seahawk stickers? Did you see the Seahawk during the Super Bowl?" "No, he was here 10 minutes ago." WHAT?????? I told them I was in the Sea Hawker Booster Club so I had to find him. They asked if I wanted a sticker and then he grabbed for a green towel. I yelled, "WHAT??? YOU have a 12th Man Towel???" I think I scared him because he almost threw the towel at me! I, of course, took it!
The fact a 12th Man Towel was in the hands of someone other than a Seahawk fan almost drove me to practicing my throw down techniques!
I took the towel and the stickers and went back to class because I drive the Prof "home" as she lives on my side of the complex. Anyway, I ask her if it's ok if we make a detour to the airport because that's where the soldier in the Mayor's Cell thought they were going. She agrees (what else is she going to do, I'm her way home!) so we go onto the Air Force Base looking for the lone Seahawk. We get to the PAX Terminal and no Josh. I know one of the Airman that works at the PAX is a BIG Seahawk fan so I have him search all manifests for Josh's name (not TOTALLY illegal.) No luck. I drive down to the VIP terminal and ask the Airman there to see if there was a flight leaving for Kuwait. Nope. Well, I guess I better give up as now my Psych Prof thinks I'm a stalker!
We are driving back to VBC (Victory Base Complex where we live) and she says, "What if they didn't leave tonight and they're at the JVB? That would suck that he's this close and you don't get to see him." .....hmmmmm......she's right. Mission: find Josh. I drop her off (without feeding her "your a stalker" thoughts about me) and go straight to the JVB (almost like a guest house for VIP's.) I park, go in and see the desk SGT is on the phone so I wait. He asks if he can help me.....hell ya you can help me! OK, so I don't want him thinking I'm a stalker too, so I say, "Might you know if the football players have left yet?"....making it seem like I KNOW they're there. "No, they haven't.....there's one right there" as he points to some Giant that I could care less about. Well of course I ask if Josh was there knowing it's now 2330hrs (11:30 p.m.) "Oh yea," he says, "he just went into his room; do you want me to see if he's still awake?" Hell ya!!!......oh yea, I'm not a stalker.......... "Sure SGT if you could I sure would appreciate it. Don't wake him up so just knock lightly."
Five minutes pass so he must have woken him up. darn it......... here comes Josh. YIPPEEE!!! Mission accomplished!!! After I introduce myself he asks me to wait a minute and he goes and gets a 12th Man Flag, a t-shirt, some stickers and autographed posters. I had him sign a few for some Sea Hawkers here (to include that Airman.) I asked Josh if he could say HI to that Airman that was just as excited as I was to have a Seahawk in Iraq, and of course he said yes (very gracious!), so I called him at work and Josh talked with him for a bit. That made the Airman's YEAR!! There ya go, Airman Patrick O'Neil!
Here I thought I missed meeting Josh because I wasn't in Iraq for the Super Bowl (it was my birthday and I wanted beer!) but as fate had it, they hadn't taken off until that next morning. That next morning I too was getting on yet another helicopter out of BIAP and who was there? YEPPER! Josh, so now I have a picture of me and him taken on the BIAP airfield (oh yea, you're not supposed to do that!) OH, and by the way, I did tell my Prof that I found him..........now she KNOWS I'm a stalker!
Well, that's my story........ how great it is to have someone come all the way to Iraq, without having to, JUST to sign autographs and let service members and civilians take pictures with them. I wish there was a way to let them know how much it really means to us that they do this. We have to be here, they don't. The boost in morale is amazing when we get to meet someone that takes time out of their life to come to a warzone for us.........just us! Amazing.
Thanks Josh! You rock!

Embarrassed to be a 12 last Su Embarrassed to be a 12 last Sunday
It upsets me that we as a Proud fan base embarrassed ourselves nationally once again. We do not respect the game, the proud traditions of the NFL. Where in all your years have you seen such bad behavior at a game or watching on TV, where?
The snowballs thrown were a blatant disrespect for the game and the safety of the many in the stands and on the field. Speaking with Darrell, head of security, he stated snowballs were packed around batteries and coated with beer and cola to weight them down to further the distance, thus causing more damage upon impact. They were landing with full force from that distance - yes, blood was accomplished, many reported with cuts and abrasions. Calls came in from other NLF teams that house many snow games throughout their season, and they were shocked and disappointed at the Quest staff and the Seattle fan base.
I have to believe or I hope those that were throwing the snowballs were not regulars; I hope we as a city know better.
OK, yes, Quest was understaffed, and many police offers never made it to the game to deter the onslaught, but come on, where is your pride? What about the thousands of fans that were yelling to knock it off, all you drunk fools and followers that even now thought it was a hoot and wish you could have been there to toss a few yourselves. Next year cameras are being installed all around the stadium, and they will be reviewed and knuckleheads will be tracked to the seat location and will be severally punished; whether you were at the game or not, your season tickets will be revoked.
So this is how we have to be treated, because ( I want to say a few) of thousands of you so-called Seahawk fans.
We do not live in a lawless society, life there is accountably, if you don the colors of the 12 then wear them proud and conduct yourself accordingly. I love what the 12 has accomplished over the many decades and don't want to see it all fall apart. My question to my brothers and sisters: where were you in all of this, did you toss a few? Did you stand idle and say nothing, or did you reach out to those near you.
We as the 12 do not act in such a manner, and we all need to check ourselves.

Meetup for Seahawks Games in W Meetup for Seahawks Games in Washington DC
Hi there fellow Seahawk fans :-)
If you live in the Washington DC area, or are just visiting and want to join other Seahawks fans to watch the Seahawks play, I invite you to join a great group of Hawk fans who meet at the Penn Quarter Sports Tavern.
The Penn Quarter Sports Tavern is located at:
639 Indiana Ave NW
Washington, DC 20004
(202) 347-6666
This place is close to the Penn Quarter/Navy Memorial Metro Stop, and there is generally plenty of street parking.
We are generally on the 2nd floor and have tables reserved. This is a great place to watch games. They have large flat screen HD TVs covering all their walls showing every game playing. The food is good and inexpensive, and the beer flows freely :-)
Here is the website to our meetup group:

I look forward to seeing you at the next game.

Welcome Back K-Rob Welcome Back K-Rob
I want to welcome back Koren Robinson.
We all know his past indiscretions and the reason he was run out of town, and I think he understands and respects that decision now and has grown from it. Personally, I cheered his release at the time and think it was the right decision, but people do grow and learn from their mistakes; and hopefully with a new family and a fresh start he will succeed.
He has a kid and one on the way, and here's hoping he stays clean for the good of the team and his family. He is not a savior, but I believe he will come in with something to prove to the front office, coaching staff and fans, and the team will benefit.
He has something to prove to all and to himself, and good things can come of that.
Go Hawks!!! Slaughter the Lambs!!!!
