    I wanted to pass along a few photos of the "12" Flag flying proudly here in the Anbar Province in western Iraq.  On Monday, 28 June, we had two ceremonies here on our small U.S. camp - one was my promotion from the rank of Major to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  The second was awarding End of Tour Awards to our small team of advisors.  We advise a Corps level Command for the Iraqi Security Forces here and are the direct link between U.S. Forces in the province and the Iraqi Army.  My two senior Bosses graciously allowed the "12" flag to fly (one is a die hard Cowboys fan) during both ceremonies.  Our team is a part of the 1st Advise and Assist Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division out of Ft Bragg, North Carolina. 

    The Brigade Public Affairs Noncommissioned Officer in charge, Sergeant First Class (SFC) Patrick Malone took the photos for me.  We have been in Iraq since last August and will be redeploying shortly.  I brought my #8 jersey and hung it in my room, along with a Griffey jersey and Sounders jersey that I received for Christmas as reminders of home. 
    
    Thanks again for the flag, it was a great addition to the ceremonies.  I hope you enjoy the photos.
